Why Does Garage Detailer Recommend UCoat It™ Garage Epoxy Floor Paint?

With UCoat It™ epoxy floor coating, your car can drive on your showroom-finished garage floor the next day. UCoats’ epoxy formula catalyzes from the inside out making it fast to cure. Other epoxy floor coatings I have seen, recommend you wait 7-10 days until their product fully cures. These other epoxy coatings also require your floor to be completely dry floor before application. This means waiting a least a day for your cleaned floor to dry. UCoat epoxy should be applied to a damp floor allowing the entire application process to be performed in a single day.

3 easy application steps:

  1. Thoroughly clean the floor. Spot degrease oily areas then etch the floor with a mild muratic acid solution and flush with clean water. Concrete cleaning and repair supplies are available in the UPrep kit.
  2. Apply a thin 3-part bonding coat to the cleaned concrete floor. Sprinkle the supplied Utex grit over the wet bond coat to provide a non-skid surface. The bonding coat cures in 4-6 hours. You may be wondering what the 3rd part of this epoxy floor coating system is. The 3rd part is a co-plastimer that aids the epoxy in penetrating and sealing the concrete surface.
  3. Apply a 2-part finish coat after bond coat dries. The floor will be ready for foot traffic in 12 hours. Vehicles can drive on it the next day. Optional decorative enhancements will take longer to cure.
Caution: Protect Your Eyes & Lungs! Use safety glasses and a respirator approved for use with muratic acid.
Appropriate respirators are available at your local home improvement and hardware store.
